I’ve often thought about blogging but I’ve always been apprehensive. Partly because I’m not a great writer, partly because I know I’ll be unable to keep work and pleasure apart, partly because I fear I’ll move from interesting to painfully cathartic; partly because it would be another thing to feel guilty about not attending too often enough; and partly because I know I’d drop it and it would have that all-to-common tumbleweed look.
But having listed “keeping a journal” as one of my new year’s resolutions I thought I’d try it. There are some clear advantages:
- it’s a nice way to keep in touch with what friends are up to;
- it gives me something to refer back to to see how my thinking has changed; and
- I’m surrounded by such interesting people doing such interesting work it should be worth reflecting on that.
So let’s give it a try!
