All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing

Much to Kate’s delight there’s a Cadfael weekend on ITV 3 this weekend. Last night’s episode called “The Raven Of The Foregate” (based on the book of the same name) was great fun but I cannot resist a grumpy old man moment. Near the end the script included the quote “all that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing”. But that’s not a biblical quote right? Isn’t it Edmund Burke (1729 – 1797)? Cadfael is set in the twelfth century.
